This material is Biblically based, theologically sound, and is graded curriculum that is sure to reach your child right where they are in their station of life. 252 Kid’s Chapel (Pre-K – 5th Grade) – Sundays, 10:45am, Fellowship Hall
What’s a 252 Kid? Luke 2:52-And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor of God and man.
It’s a place where we can have a great big time learning about our Great Big God! It is a chapel where we can grow in our faith and imagination and learn as we are interactive in the bible stories that teach core virtues. A place where God is cool and kids rule! We can teach kids to live out their new understanding of how to grow in their relationship with God and with others. With these 3 simple core truths, kids learn to make wise choices and know they can trust God no matter what. They also learn to treat others the way they want to be treated.
Come Join the Club!!
Children’s Choir/Handbells ((Pre-K–5th Grade)
Our Children’s Choir meets on Sunday evenings at 5:00 in the fellowship hall. Together we learn to worship and honor our Lord in song.
Bible Basics (Pre-K–5th Grade)
On Sunday evenings at 6:00 our children gather together for Bible Skills, Drills, and Thrills. Through this hands-on, age-appropriate curriculum, children develop valuable Bible skills: Bible verses, key passages, the books of the Bible, related Bible Stories, and much more.
Wednesday Night Missions (Children through the 5th Grade)
Mission Friends (Boys and Girls through Kindergarten)
GA’s: Girls in Action (Girls 1st – 5th Grade)
RA’s: Royal Ambassadors (Boys 1st – 5th Grade)
At Lawing’s Chapel we want our children to not only learn about missions, but participate! Through our missions discipleship organizations (GA’s, RA’s, Mission Friends) our children “learn about, pray for, give to, and do missions work. They also make new friends and have lots of fun!”
Nursery is a place where your toddler can explore and learn with hands on play.
Each day is filled with one new discovery after another. Where did the bird come from? Why is the moon that shape? Who created the earth? Who thought to color the butterfly like that? This place is where they can find answers and learn all about God and his creation. Come and play with us!
STUDENTS: Lawing’s Chapel Youth Ministry
At Lawing’s Chapel Baptist Church, we recognize that the teenage years can be tough to maneuver – there seem to be twists and turns at every junction, and we want to be there to help. We’ve done all we can to develop proven programs and strategies to reach these young people and to give them a place to explore their faith in creative, non-threatening ways. The activities listed below are just a few of the ways that your student can become involved to find what Christ wants to do in his/her life.
Our youth group has a mixture of Bible Study, fun games, life discussions, and great fellowship times. Join us during one of the times below!
Sunday Morning (9:30)
Every Sunday morning we have a special class just for our junior and senior high students in Sunday School. In their class, they will discuss topics that are pertinent and relevant to our day, and learn what God has to say about issues that we face every day. Our goal is to make sure that our students hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Sunday Evenings (6:00) and Wednesday Evenings (6:30)
On Sunday and Wednesday evenings the youth of Lawing’s Chapel come together for one primary goal: To empower themselves to grow in their spiritual life so God’s love will shine through them. This may be through the practice of Bible Study, Singing, Skits, Drama, Open Discussions, etc. No matter what the youth may be doing, they are learning to live their lives to bring honor and glory to God.
Throughout the year we go on special trips, camps and other outings. Guests are always welcome to come and be a part with us. I you have any questions about these or any of our other activities for our students, please contact our Minister of Families, Misti Richardson at 336-953-4081.

The Peacemaker – Taught by Matt Tape
Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers.” But it often seems like conflict and disagreement are unavoidable. Serious, divisive conflict is everywhere-within families, in the church, and out in the world. And it can seem impossible to overcome its negative force in our lives. Sande takes readers beyond resolving conflicts to true, life-changing reconciliation with family members, coworkers, and fellow believers. Biblically based, The Peacemaker is full of godly wisdom and useful suggestions that are easily applied to any relationship needing reconciliation. Facilitated by Matt Tape and the cost is free.
Unseen But Certain – Taught by Stephen Rector
In this series by Danny Akin, president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, we will discuss the Spiritual Reality of Angels, Satan, Demons, Heaven and Hell. This class is Facilitated by Pastor Stephen. Class is Free. If you’d like a workbook, the cost is $8.00.
Manhood Restored – Taught by Tim Woody
The earthly crisis within manhood will be there until Jesus returns, but in Christ men are pointed toward the gospel as the vision for renewal. Manhood Restored by exciting new pastoral voice Eric Mason combines theological depth with practical insights, putting men in step with a gospel-centered manhood that will enrich every facet of their lives. Taught by Tim Woody. Class is Free.
Everyone is welcome to join us for Bible Study each Wednesday at 6:30. We are currently doing a study on I & II Samuel.
“Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, for behold, I come and I will dwell in your midst, declares the LORD.”-Zechariah 2:10
At Lawing’s Chapel, we recognize that music is a large part of what the Body of Christ is all about. Of all the descriptions that the Bible gives us about heaven, there is nothing that seems to play a larger part of our role in eternity than singing and worshipping the everlasting God. That’s why music is a central part of the ministry at Lawing’s Chapel and is ever-changing and always growing. Our goal is to work towards a more blended approach when it comes to our philosophy as it relates to music. What this means is that we want our services to be mulit-generational – to reach out to every generation. We seek to do this by blending together the classic hymns of the Christian faith and the more modern worship music that is available. By doing this, we believe we are able to better minister to the entire body of Christ. There are a variety of ways that you can become involved in the music ministry at Lawing’s Chapel:
Sanctuary Choir – Meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 in the Sanctuary
Praise Team – Meets weekly to rehearse and prepare worship music
Children’s Choir/Hand bells – Meets Sunday evenings at 5:00 in the Fellowship Hall
Our focus is always God-centered, in everything that we do. From traditional to contemporary music, God is at the heart of our worship. For information on these groups or any of our other music ministries or programs, please contact our Music Minister, Misti Richardson.
